‘It’s a moral question about whether we have the right to exterminate species’
David Attenborough
Leave no footprints of extinction to stain the sand
The womb of the universe… sun fried African land
Draped in coats of rough wrinkles….ambling with wary treads
Creamy scythe like tusks…bejewelling their noble heads
Souls so ancient…with their god given treasures
Forever stalked by man… for materialistic pleasures
World-wise eyes and deep feelings of the heart
Matriarch and daughters…only by death will part
The mystical exquisiteness of ivory woven in greed and fears
A fusion of genes…passed down over 1000’s of years
Majestic as any mountain…tuskers of which there are few
Pleading for forgiveness from this species…. is long overdue
Powerful free swinging trunks….ears fanning the sultry breeze
Hope spreading its wings….russet leaves caressing the trees
Pulsating heartbeats…blood pounding through human veins
Powerful forces fighting this corruption and their ill gotten gains
Plum purple clouds and hustling winds
Needle like rain cleansing… away these evil sins
As the sun takes its time in going to bed
Drenching the horizon in golds and reds
A cool damp breeze licks through the trees
The sweet fresh smell of peace…stretching with ease
The warmth of dawn melts the cool of the night
Sunrise scatters rays of…..aureate light
An eagle celebrates….cleaving the air way up high
Spilling a shadow of content….under a cerulean sky
A drum roll of Africa….a random beat
Giants of Africa…graceful on their feet
Sharing their magic….baring their souls
The heartbeat of Africa…keeping Africa whole
Humans
Leave indelible footprints of positivity on this magical earth
Flood the hollow spaces in your hearts….it is time for re-birth
Please forgive me, i am an animal in a human body. I love my elephants and all animals. I don’t like the majority of the human race. Just wish i could help more to save all you animals who need me.
Thank you.
Keep up the great work Jenny. We humans do not belong at the top of the food chain any longer. High time that humans were culled in large numbers.
Brilliant Jen!!!!! it makes my heart ache with sorrow for all the unjust, and totally unnecessary suffering we inflict upon so many wonderful creatures.
Beautiful Jen once again. Keep up the good work and look forward to every week to see how you make a difference in saving the beautiful animals from these poachers xx
A beautiful sad story written again so cleverly in your amazing prose….I love it…love you and what you are doing and am proud of you every day xxx
Just gut wrenchingly beautiful and so so deeply moving x
We as a species us humans need to realise we are part of the environment not removed from it and yes we do need to plead for forgiveness from Elephants and an endless line up of wildlife that is being pushed to the brink of extinction and beyond!!!
I’m impressed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both equally educative and interesting, and
without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The problem is something that nott enough men and women are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy that I stumbled across this during my search
for something concerning this.
